Everyday, since I first discovered I was carrying my children, I have prayed for them. That they would know the Lord. That they would be healthy. That they would know love. But can I be honest with you? Sometimes I find myself in a bit of a prayer rut.
Does that ever happen to you?
It’s the reason I love this list of prayers for my children. It’s 12 different things I can pray over my children in a rotation, focusing on something different each and every day. Some of the prayers, like the first one for salvation, are a part of my regular prayers.
But others, like asking the Lord for them to be caught when guilty, are not things I would necessarily think to ask of the Lord.
In the book of John, Jesus says, “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13)
As parents, let’s cling to that promise on behalf of our children and boldly take these prayers and petitions to the Lord in Jesus’ name. Amen.
